ஸ்டெர்லிட் எதிர்ப்பு போராட்டம்: வழக்கறிஞர்களுக்கு உயர்நீதிமன்றம் முன் ஜாமின் மறுப்பு
மதுரை: சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தின் மதுரை பெஞ்ச், தூத்துக்குடி நகரில் ஸ்டெர்லிட் எதிர்ப்பு போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்த இரண்டு வழக்கறிஞர்கள் மீது ஜாமீன் வழங்க மறுப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இதே நீதிமன்றத்தில் கடந்த 7 ஆம் தேதி அவ்வழக்கறிஞர்களை கைதுசெய்ய தடை விதித்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
“மக்களே அதிகாரம்”
வழக்கறிஞர்கள் ஹரி ராகவன் மற்றும் வஞ்சிநாதன் இருவரும் மதுரை மற்றும் தூத்துக்குடி நீதிமன்றங்களில் பணிபுரிந்து வருகிறார்கள். குறிப்பாக அவர்கள் இருவரும் “மக்களே அதிகாரம்” என்ற இயக்கத்தின் செயலாளர்களாகும். போலீசார் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக பத்து வழக்குகள் பதிவு செய்துள்ளனர். வழக்கறிஞர்களின் ஜாமீன் மனுவை தள்ளுபடி செய்த நீதிபதி திரு ஜி.ஆர். ஸ்வாமிநாதன் காவல்துறையின் விசாரணைக்கு ஒத்துழைக்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். மே 22 மற்றும் மே 23 அன்று ஸ்டெர்லிட் எதிர்ப்பு ஆர்ப்பாட்டக்காரர்கள் மீது போலீஸ் துப்பாக்கி சூடு நடத்தியபோது பதின்மூன்று பேர் இறந்தனர் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

MADURAI : Monday 18th June 2018, Madras high court, Madurai bench dismissed anticipatory bail application to two lawyers in accused of engineering the protests of anti-Sterlite at Tuticorin.
“Makkal Adhigaram” (people’s authority)
The lawyers, Hari Raghavan & Vanjinathan, practising law Madurai and Tuticorin. By the way, they two are district secretaries of the “Makkal Adhigaram” (people’s authority) outfit. Tuticorin Police had registered more than 10 cases against those two advocates. The advocates’ bail petition came for hearing on Monday. The Honorable Justice G R Swaminathan dismissed it and said they could not move away from police interrogation. Notably, On May 22 and May 23, 13 people died when police opened fire on anti-Sterlite protesters.
