தற்போது மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர்களின் அடிப்படை சம்பளத்தில் 80 சதவீதமாக அகவிலைப்படி உள்ளது. இதை 10 % உயர்த்தி 90 % மாக ஆக்க மத்திய அரசு முடிவு எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர்களுக்கு 10% அளவுக்கு அகவிலைப்படி உயர்வு செய்து இந்த மாதம் வெளியிடபடுகிறது. தொழிற்சாலை ஊழியர்களுக்கான இந்திய நுகர்வோர் விலை குறியீட்டு எண் (ஜூன் மாதம்) திருத்திய மதிப்பீட்டின் அடிப்படையாக கொண்டு இந்த அகவிலைப்படி கொடுக்கபடுகிறது.
கடந்த, ஜனவரி முதல் அமலுக்கு வந்த 8 % அகவிலைப்படிஉயர்வால் 72 % தில் இருந்து 80 % மாக உயர்த்தப்பட்டது. தற்போது 10 % மானால் 90%த்தை எட்டும். இதனால் 50 லட்சம் அரசு ஊழியர்களும் 30 லட்சம் ஓய்வூதியதாரர்களும் பலன் அடைவர்கள்.ஆகஸ்டு மாதம் 30-ந் தேதி வெளியிடப்பட்ட புள்ளிவிவரங்களின் அடிப்படையில் தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான சில்லறை பண வீக்க விகிதம் (ஜூன் மாத நிலவரம்) 11.63 %. ஜூலை மாதம் 31-ந் தேதி வெளியிடப்பட்ட தற்காலிக சில்லறை பண வீக்க விகிதம் 11.06 % மாக இருந்தது. திருத்திய மதிப்பீடு வந்து விட்டதால் அதன்படி, மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் ஓய்வூதியதாரர்களுக்கு அகவிலைப்படியை உயர்த்த நிதித்துறை அமைச்சகம் ஒரு திட்ட முன்மாதிரியை தயார் செய்து மத்திய மந்திரிசபையின் ஒப்புதலுக்கு அனுப்பும். 3 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகு இப்பொழுது தான் இரட்டையிலக்க சதவீத அகவிலைப்படி உயர்வு செய்ய படுகிறது என்பது முக்கிய செய்தி.

Ahead of the festive season, the Union government will announce a hike in dearness allowance (DA) to 90% from the existing 80% benefiting nearly 50 lakh central employees and 3 lakh pensioners this month according to official sources.
The sources further said the exact amount of DA, as a proportion of basic pay, works out to over 90% after factoring in the revised All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for June.
According to revised data released on August 30, retail inflation for factory workers for Jun stood at 11.63%, higher than the provisional estimate of 11.06% for the month released on July 31.Sources said since the revised estimate for the month of June was available, the finance ministry would soon prepare a proposal for the purpose for seeking Union Cabinet nod.They further said the proposal would be moved this month. There would be a double-digit hike in DA after about three years.It was last in September, 2010, that the government had announced a hike of 10% to be given with effect from July 1, 2010.As per practice, the government uses CPI-IW data for past 12 months or a year to arrive at a number for the purpose of any DA hike. Thus, the retail inflation for industrial workers between July 2012 and June 2013 will be used to take a final decision.
